I’ve been thinking about moving over into film for a long time so with some trepidation, and in my usual style, I’ve decided to dip my toes in first. I’m slowly building a camera from spare parts (stolen mostly from my Girlfriend) and with a lot of help from forums.
I’ve always been interested in mixing [...]
The Louis Blouin Institute hosts the ceremonial bash of the opening of the new WallCandy gallery both digitally and physically. There’s going to to be a whole bunch of awesome illustrators there flogging their wares that have been lovingly reproduced by the WallCandy team in the form of limited / high quality prints. Unfortunately [...]
The boy gonna be coming good soon, keep your ears to the ground.
Here’s a bunch of different versions I threw at the wall until something stuck.
Yeah guts, I can’t leave them alone.
Maybe I subcontiously want colonic irrigation.
Rising in the east; the colourless Ulterior sun eclipsing only pyramids upon pyramids. They’ve come to conquer the kings of saturation; neurave into no-waves of faceless haircuts hacked out of the pages of the Hitler Youth, beneath the fallen wall.
We’ll wait and, like vultures after a battle, swoop to peck out your pretty eyeballs. You [...]
1. how would you describe your style?
I’ve never really thought about what I do as having a style, I’m just trying to experiment as much as possible; to always be in new territory. I’ve definitely been through phases but never rested long enough to consider myself at home with what might be deemed a set [...]
Scans by my wonderful friends at Konsept83
…I’ll send you a postcard. Until then; I got caught commenting on the state of design in the music industry in computer arts last month. Guilty as charged.
Next month they’re running a feature on me, aw, I’ve made new friends.
Haven’t posted in a while I know, sorry. I had to leave London to record an album and it’s pretty much consumed me every waking hour and I know it’ll continue to do so for a good while yet. We escaped to the cold and unforgiving hills of shropshire where we nested our sore behinds [...]
Just a quickie for a bit off fun, hope you can come along.
In a couple of weeks I’ll be off to a secret location in the English countryside to record an album. ‘Psyched’ isn’t the word. I’ll take my camera, promise.
Ok, so I’m now happy to be represented by www.illustrationweb.com. You can go over there and see my gallery on their site; it’ll let you zoom in for a better look at all the mistakes I made whilst doing them.
(Thanks for finding me Sarah, I owe you one!)
Was it a personal ambition or chance that led you to become a designer?
I think when I was 18 I was quite scared of entering the world of artistry because I’m from a very poor background. I know, as I did them, that most people who establish themselves as artists have wealthy parents to support [...]
It’s always nice to lift dead arms and feel where the pulse used to be.
Can you feel the dried old river?
It’s funny that when you talk to people (and when I say ‘talk’ I really mean embark on a massive, self-absorbed polemic that doesn’t mean shit to the other person) you can suddenly see your own thoughts like hanging paintings in a gallery, or maybe more like that moment in ‘The Fly’ when Seth Brundle’s [...]
